Distinctive features of the manufacturer

The Kreps company was created more than 20 years ago. All this time, it releases solids that are used in construction. In the assortment of the company there are more than 50 types of goods. These include tile adhesive and plaster. The manufacturer also offers cement-based solids.

All products are subject to stringent checks before they go on sale. This helps minimize the likelihood of acquiring substandard materials. Clay Strengths Strengthened sell in bags of 5 and 25 kilograms. It is a dry powder based on cement. Also in the composition are modifiers, sand. There are also plasticizers in it. Such glue differs from the standard by a serious improvement in technical properties.

With the proper preparation of the substance, the adhesion of the solution reaches 1 megapascal, while conventional means have an index of 0.3-0.8.

In addition, this tile adhesive is characterized by high frost resistance. It can withstand up to 35 freezing and thawing cycles. The composition tolerates a large range of temperatures and can be used for fixation outside and inside the room.

Reinforced

This glue has improved technical properties. This allows you to expand the scope of its use. The compositions are suitable for interior decoration with massive porcelain tiles and ceramics. Also, the tool can be used to work with stone.

Glue allows laying decorative tiles on various types of surfaces - concrete, plasterboard sheets and plaster. The substance is characterized by high parameters of frost resistance and resistance to moisture. Therefore, it can be used for indoor and outdoor use.

Kreps Super

This type of glue is allowed to be used for finishing work outdoors and indoors. It is suitable for laying porcelain stoneware and ceramics. The key feature of the substance is the content of special polymers in the composition. They help improve the properties of tile adhesives.

The composition is used for laying plates on different coatings. This can be done on gypsum surfaces, porous concrete, plaster. Also, glue is applied to metal and wood, plasterboard sheets. It is worth rubbing the seams after 2 days. After which the surface is allowed to operate.

Cooking compound

After choosing tile adhesive, it is worth mixing the dry composition correctly. In this case, it is recommended to prepare everything necessary for the preparation of the substance. Tools that may be required include the following:

  • mixing container
  • water, glue,
  • a drill with a nozzle in the form of a mixer,
  • putty knife.

To prepare the working composition, it is recommended to observe the following rules:

  1. Pour water into a mixing bowl. The volume of liquid is determined by the amount of tile adhesive that is planned to be obtained. The ratio is indicated on the pack.
  2. Pour the powder into water, following the instructions. On the contrary, it is not recommended to do.
  3. Drill mix well. You can also use a spatula. No dry fragments or lumps should remain in it.
  4. Wait a quarter of an hour and mix again.

Make a solution right before use. After mixing, the finished substance should be used no more than 4 hours. Through this period of time, he will lose his fixing characteristics. The remaining dry matter should be tightly closed and kept in a dry room.

Procedure

After preparing the adhesive for use, it is important to correctly apply it on the base and tile. To do this, it is recommended to perform the following actions:

  1. Prepare the base for masonry. It is recommended to align it and remove the old tile. The base is cleaned of dust and oil stains, and then primed. To achieve perfect adhesion, use a primer Kreps Primer. If the surface has a porous structure, the procedure is performed 2 times.
  2. After preparatory work, it is worth applying the finished solution. To do this, use a notched trowel.
  3. When laying, it is recommended to control the size of the joints between the tiles. To do this, correctly put crosses.

After masonry is finished, the tile is not allowed to be exposed for 24-72 hours. It all depends on the brand of glue Creps.

If it is planned to lay large-size plates, not only the base is treated with glue. In this case, it is worth covering the plates.

Advantages and disadvantages

Clay Creps is used in cases where ordinary solutions do not give a result. The composition is considered high quality. It provides high adhesion and prevents tile displacement even under adverse conditions. When using adhesives with low or medium resistance to moisture, low elasticity and insufficient frost resistance, adhesive seams are quickly destroyed. This entails deformation of the tile. The same applies to heat resistance.

The use of simple compositions for laying a warm floor provokes cracking of joints after a short period of time. This is due to the expansion of the tile when heated. Moreover, the glue does not expand.

The key advantages of Kreps adhesives include the following:

  • preservation of characteristics with increasing, decreasing or drops in temperature,
  • economical consumption
  • high strength
  • quick solidification
  • possibility of application for all bases and different types of tiles,
  • high thermal conductivity
  • excellent moisture resistance
  • possibility of application in difficult conditions,
  • frost resistance
  • fire resistance - for some varieties of Kreps.

The adhesive composition has significantly fewer disadvantages. When carrying out work, it is worth strictly adhering to the instructions. It is important to act as quickly as possible, since the glue hardens in a short time. Inexperienced masters find it difficult to keep the process under control, monitor the thickness of the layer and the uniformity of application. This is important when laying large tiles, which will fall off with an excessively thin layer.

Analogs

The analogs of the composition include the following:

  • Plitonite B,
  • Ceresit CM11,
  • Will found AC11 Starplix.

Clay Craps is highly effective and can achieve excellent results when laying tiles. To fix the composition was reliable, it is worth choosing the right substance and clearly observe the technology of its installation.

Preparation and application

On the packaging is always indicated the exact rate of fluid that must be added to obtain the finished glue. Usually it takes 6-6.5 liters per large package of powder, but at first it is better to take a minimum amount of liquid (6 l). Water is poured into the container, then the mixture is poured, mixed manually or with a construction mixer at low speeds. Also for this purpose, you can take a drill with a special nozzle. After 10 minutes, the mass is kneaded again, then it is considered ready for use. Use the solution in 4 hours, no more.

When working with any tile, it is very important to properly prepare the base. It should not have any differences, irregularities, deformation changes

All contaminants, dust are removed from the surface, degreased by washing with household chemicals or treating with alcohol. In order for the adhesion to the base to be ideal, it is worthwhile to additionally apply a Kreps Primer primer. Strongly absorbent, porous substrates are primed twice.

Further, the procedure is as follows:

  • apply the product on the base, then level it with a notched trowel,
  • immediately process only that area that can be tiled in 15-20 minutes,
  • to lay the tile within the specified time,
  • press the elements well
  • when laying, monitor the normal dimensions of the tile joints, for which crosses must be correctly installed.

At the end of work, immediately rinse all tools with water. After the glue hardens, it will be an order of magnitude more difficult to do. During work, you need to use tight clothing, personal protective equipment. If glue gets on the skin, it is recommended to rinse it with plenty of water.

Advantages and disadvantages

The reinforced Creps material has become popular due to a number of advantages.

Among the most important positive qualities for consumers, there are several:

Profitability. One bag of material is enough for processing a large surface area. However, it is worth noting that the expense as a whole depends on the skill of the tiler and the type of base.

  • Drying speed. With proper performance of the composition of the desired consistency, it will dry out within 24 hours.
  • High quality at an affordable cost. This glue stands out noticeably against the background of other analogues. It is distinguished by high adhesion, while the cost of the material allows its acquisition for a large amount of work.
  • Resistance to liquid. Reinforced adhesive material is suitable for use in rooms where humidity is high. After drying, it is not afraid of water vapor, so it can be used when performing the lining of the floor and walls of the bathroom.
  • Resistance to high and low temperatures. You can use such material for fireplaces and stoves, without fear that tile coverings will begin to peel off over time.
  • Resistance to slipping. In the process of gluing vertical surfaces, the composition does not slide down if the solution is kneaded correctly.

If we talk about the shortcomings of the compositions "Kreps", we can note the need for experience with similar materials. If you are not confident in your skills, it is better to turn to experienced tilers. It is necessary to monitor the amount of adhesive. If the thickness is large, the tile coating will slip. If the adhesive layer is insufficient, tiles or other adhesive products may lag behind the surface over time.

Features and benefits of the KREPS brand

To find out what strengths KREPS dry adhesives have, you need to consider their composition.

The standard components are:

  • Cement.
  • Various modifiers.
  • Sand.
  • Additives for plasticization.

Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare the adhesive mass. To do this, the dry powder is diluted with water, according to the proportions indicated on the package.

If the solution is kneaded correctly, it will have the specified technical characteristics of the tile adhesive:

  1. Brand strength - M 75.
  2. Adhesive strength - 1 MPa.
  3. The index of frost resistance is F 35.

The adhesive for KREPS tiles under the brand name “Reinforced” has parameters that are higher than that of dry mixes under the name “Standard”. In addition to this, after mixing the composition, you can work with it for 20 minutes longer. The reinforced structure tolerates temperature changes, thanks to this, it can be used on the street or at home when installing the "warm floor" system.

In addition to the improved features presented above, KREPS “Reinforced” has other advantages.

These include:

  • High rate of frost resistance.
  • Long-term moisture resistance.
  • Profitability due to low consumption.
  • Grasps quickly.

A separate group of adhesives is modified with additional additives to improve the basic characteristics. It can be refractory substances, antifreezes.

The benefits of special blends

It is immediately worth noting that the price of mortar mixtures with improved technical parameters is quite high. This is due to the presence in their composition of a large number of expensive components. Nevertheless, this disadvantage is more than compensated by the advantages of reinforced glue:

  • high strength and wear resistance,
  • good adhesion and frost resistance
  • relatively low material consumption (from 2 to 5 kg per m2),
  • large temperature range of operation,
  • ability to mate with almost any type of substrate,
  • moisture resistance and good thermal conductivity,
  • the possibility of laying large-caliber heavy plates.

Objectively assess the quality and relevance of improved solutions will help feedback from consumers who personally used the mixture for facing:

  • A couple of years ago I equipped the floor in the garage with Ceresite frost-resistant glue. Despite the harsh climatic conditions, especially in winter, not a single tile has peeled off the floor,
  • When I was about to clad a metal chimney, my acquaintances twisted my finger around the weight. Like, the tiles will not hold. And it wasn’t there, reinforced glue has been serving me faithfully for more than a year and a half, until it has hurt anyone with a flying off tile,
  • For three years, I twice changed the tiles in the bathroom. It begins to fall off just a few months after laying. The last time a consultant in a hardware store advised taking Kreps. I don’t know what will happen next, but so far it has been lasting longer than previous solutions.

Installation work

Using reinforced glue, you need to consider some recommendations:

  • Finishing work can only be done if the temperature is positive.
  • Glue is best applied with a notched trowel.
  • The base must be resistant to deformation and shrinkage.
  • If the adhesive is on the skin or mucous membranes, rinse them thoroughly with water, without waiting for the composition to dry.
  • Do not forget about personal protective equipment, which is recommended for use in decorating.
  • Allow the glue to dry completely, do not step on the floor cladding until the glue is completely dry. The drying coating must not be exposed to mechanical fluid.
  • Grouting can be done in a day or two.

It is recommended that tile materials be attached to the surface immediately after using the adhesive. Otherwise, the glue will harden, it will be difficult to finish. Until the adhesive has frozen, it is possible to adjust the position of the products if necessary.

Useful Tips

Do not start surface operation until the adhesive layer has completely dried. The same applies to grouting: it begins only after 24 hours for the walls, 72 for the floor, otherwise there is a risk of tile displacement. Other tips for working with reinforced glue:

  1. The larger the tile, the larger the trowels should be at the spatula. For elements of size 15 * 15, the length of the cloves is 6 mm, for tiles 30 * 30 cm - 8 mm.
  2. The optimal thickness of the glue layer is 4 mm, but for plates more than 30 * 30 cm it is made at least 7 mm. If the floor is laid, it is worth putting a layer up to 9 mm. The main thing is to evenly distribute the glue along the base, it is better to check it with a level.
  3. It is possible to work at subzero temperatures only with glue in which antifreeze is added. Other adhesives are used at positive temperatures, preferably above +5 degrees.
  4. Prior to final drying, do not wash the floor; contact with water and other liquids should be completely excluded.
  5. The base should not be subject to shrinkage, deformation. Otherwise, the tile will begin to deteriorate, move away from the surface.

If all the tips are followed, there is a high chance that the work will be done quickly and efficiently. Reinforced adhesives can be used in normal conditions, they always show the best results in finishing work.

Applications for mixtures

Kreps mixes are suitable for all types of surfaces

Universal solutions with improved technical characteristics are suitable for finishing the following types of substrates:

  • cement
  • concrete
  • plaster,
  • cement-limestone,
  • mineral porous
  • drywall,
  • brick
  • tongue-and-groove.

Due to the high density of the solutions, when applied to vertical surfaces, the material practically does not creep. This allows the use of compounds for finishing not only flooring, but also walls. What are the areas of application for reinforced adhesives?

  • corridors and offices,
  • pools and bathrooms,
  • terraces and outdoor areas,
  • building facades and sports facilities.

Features and Benefits

Creps company produces compositions for various types of materials, in particular for ceramics, stone, porcelain stoneware. Among the products there is glue Kreps Reinforced. The latter has features that allow it to be used when other formulations are contraindicated.

What is the difference between Kreps with the label Reinforced:

  • When finishing, there is no slipping from the walls.
  • Used for the outside of fireplaces.
  • It freezes quickly.
  • Economically consumed.
  • Suitable for underfloor heating.
  • It has increased strength.
  • It adheres well to a number of materials.

Grapes from Craps is a dry composition. Consists of sand, cement, plasticizers, modifying additives. The particle size is 0.63 mm.

Preparation is carried out by mixing with a liquid in a predetermined proportion. With proper preparation, a viscous mixture is obtained with a strength of M 75, adhesion - 1 MPa, resistance to frost - 35 cycles.

Parameters of adhesive labeled Reinforced far above standard compounds. The latter is well applied for standard ceramic cladding. The reinforced composition allows you to extend the working time up to 20 minutes, during which you can adjust the position of the plates

What is important for this composition is the minimum creep - not more than 5 mm

Advantages of the adhesive include:

  • Frost resistance - the composition withstands low and relatively high temperatures. The mixture can be safely used for fireplaces, as well as for outdoor cladding.
  • Application for front buildings.
  • The minimum consumption of material.
  • Application at a temperature of +5.
  • Increased moisture resistance. The glue will dry normally even with a high humidity indicator. He is not afraid of vapors and liquids. Therefore, it can be used for bathrooms with floor and wall cladding.

Considering the disadvantages of the tool, it should be noted that when working with it, you must strictly follow the instructions, the minimum experience with such mixtures is important. If there are no skills, it is better to contact the master, otherwise the result may not please.

It is necessary to control the amount of the mixture used, the uniformity of application, the thickness of the layer. This is especially true for laying large tiles. With insufficient adhesive, the lining may disappear over time.

Some Kreps products include antifreeze and refractory components, which increases the useful life, strength and overall properties.

Work with adhesive

Before applying glue, the base on which the tile will be laid must be prepared for facing. For this, the surface is pre-leveled and cleaned.

It is important to minimize the risk of possible shrinkage and deformation of the base.

When all preparations are completed, the reinforced glue "Craps" is applied to the work surface using a notched trowel. The application area must be calculated in such a way as to completely lay the tile on it in 20 minutes and have time to correct inaccuracies.

When decorating the flooring with massive slab material, the adhesive should be applied not only to the base, but also to the tile itself.

After installation of the floor covering (until the adhesive composition is completely dry), it is not recommended to expose it to mechanical stress. For the same period, it is worth protecting the coating from water penetration.

Features of adhesives from various manufacturers

Examples of similar tile adhesives

When deciding on the choice of a quality solution for the installation of porcelain stoneware or large-format tiles, it is worth giving preference only to well-established manufacturers. Who can be attributed to the number of bona fide mortar manufacturers?

Bergauf

Ceramic Pro - reinforced adhesive for ceramic tiles of domestic production. It includes mineral fillers, fractional sand, plasticizers, and cement as a binder. This product is suitable for laying cladding materials in rooms with a sufficiently high humidity. The most important technical characteristics of Ceramic Pro include:

  • A small consumption of the prepared mass is not more than 2.5 kg per m2,
  • A long pot life of about 3 hours
  • High adhesion to the coating - more than 1 MPa,
  • Low rates of water absorption coefficient - less than 1.5%.

The main disadvantage of the material is its low thermal conductivity. And this means that with the installation of a warm floor, the efficiency of the heating system can decrease.

Holder

The strengthened Perfekta solution of a domestic manufacturer is suitable for mounting tiles of any size. In addition, the solution copes well with stand-format porcelain tiles, which indicates a high strength of the material. A distinctive feature of this product is fiber reinforcement. Due to this, the solution applied to the vertical surface practically does not slip.

The main physical and mechanical parameters:

  • Low consumption - not more than 1.5-2 kg per m2,
  • High compressive strength - more than 10 MPa,
  • Frost resistance - withstands up to 50 freezing cycles.

One 25 kg bag of dry mix is enough to dilute 6 liters of solution. The minuses of the material include a relatively high rate of water absorption - about 3-3.5%.

Mixiti

Glue for Mixiti tiles in the process of dilution with water forms a plastic mass of high density. It has a sufficiently high fixing ability, which allows you to mount heavy slabs of marble, porcelain stoneware, ceramics, etc. on vertical surfaces.

  • High adhesion to the base - more than 1 MPa,
  • The long pot life of the prepared mixture is 4 hours,
  • Possibility of laying material in a thick layer - up to 10 mm,
  • High grade strength - 75.

Reinforced adhesive is a special composition that can withstand high temperature and mechanical stresses. It can be used to veneer not only mineral coatings, but even metal or glass

When purchasing a solution suitable for specific operating conditions, pay attention to the strength characteristics of the material, adhesion to the base, elasticity and frost resistance

Features of Reinforced Solutions

Strengthened Kreps glue is produced in bags of 5 and 25 kg. It is a dry cement-based construction composition. It also contains sand, modifiers, plasticizers, while the total fraction size does not exceed 0.63 mm.

The main difference between the “Reinforced” means and the “Standard” category is that the technical characteristics of the former are seriously improved. In particular, with proper dilution, the adhesion of the solution will be at least 1 MPa, while with standard products it rarely exceeds 0.3-0.8. Also, this tile adhesive has high frost resistance - up to 35 cycles of freezing, defrosting and more.

Other differences of the category “Reinforced”:

  • extension of time for work in general and for adjusting tiles,
  • minimum creep even when laying large elements (up to 0.5 mm),
  • maintaining a large range of temperatures,
  • an opportunity to apply for external and internal works, including, at installation of a heat-insulated floor, facades of buildings, socles, parapets, ladders.

Some manufacturers add Kreps antifreeze to the glue. This helps to tile the exterior of buildings even at sub-zero temperatures (usually up to -10 degrees).

Application

Before starting work, you need to prepare osonation. It should be smooth, not subject to deformation changes. Previously, the surface is cleaned of dirt, dust, grease, old compounds

It is important to degrease using special products containing alcohol.

The glue is applied to the base, then leveled with a trowel with teeth. The tile needs to be laid in 20 minutes, after this period the glue becomes unusable. Full hardening occurs during the day, after which the surface can be loaded.

After completion of work, all instruments can be washed with water. However, it should be noted that this liquid cannot be used to prepare a new portion of glue.

When working with glue, you need to use protective equipment, preventing the glue from getting on the skin and respiratory tract. If the composition nevertheless gets on unprotected parts of the body, you need to rinse them under running water.

Varieties

Improved glue “Kreps” is produced in several modifications:

  • Reinforced. Due to its good ability to bond the surfaces of tiles and substrates, it is used for laying heavy types of cladding.
  • Reinforced white. It has the same qualities as the previous modification, but it includes additional dyes that give the composition a white color. It is used for fixing tiles and mosaics made of glass on the floor and walls.
  • Express. It freezes faster than other compounds, as special substances are added to it that accelerate the drying process. On the tile pasted with such a solution, you can walk after 4-5 hours.
  • Super. It perfectly fastens the facing material with metal, mineral, wood, glass and polymer substrates.

This choice of compositions allows you to choose the most optimal option for each specific case.

KREPS “Express” 25 kg

Cement-based dry mix, which is recommended for quick finishing with ceramic and clinker tiles, porcelain stoneware. The composition is supplemented by special modifiers that improve the technical characteristics. The glue is resistant to low temperatures, prolonged exposure to moisture.

It is used for laying plates on a variety of surfaces. Which include:

  • Gypsum boards.
  • Different types of plaster.
  • Aerated concrete.
  • Screeds with underfloor heating systems.
  • Drywall.

  1. The average consumption of the finished mixture is 25 kg per 8 sq.m.
  2. The time to harden the solution is 4 hours.
  3. The time interval for adjusting the position of the tiles is 15 minutes.
  4. Temperatures for the use of the finished composition - from +5 to +25 degrees.

Seams must be processed after 24 hours. Prior to the expiration of this period of time, the surface cannot be operated. As the name and technical data show, this composition will help save time when necessary.

How to work with the composition

How to prepare an adhesive solution:

  1. Pour 5-6 liters of clean water into a basin or deep bucket.
  2. Then pour one pack of the mixture (25 kg).
  3. Mix the solution using a hammer drill with a special nozzle or manually. Lumps should not remain in the mass.
  4. Now you need to let the glue stand for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix the composition again.
  6. The glue is ready. It must be used within 4 hours after preparation. The composition is stored only at room temperature, if you violate the conditions, it will lose its properties.

Before you begin installation on "Strengthened Kreps", it is necessary to carry out preparatory procedures:

  • the surface is cleaned of dust and dirt,
  • align
  • degrease
  • primed.

What you need to know about installation work with reinforced adhesive:

  1. All operations are carried out only at a positive temperature.
  2. The surface should not give in to shrinkage and deformation.
  3. To apply glue to the surface, a notched trowel is used. If the tile has a size of 15 × 15 cm, then a spatula with teeth of 6 mm in size is taken, for a tile of 30 × 30 size, a spatula with teeth of 8 mm will be needed.
  4. The optimal adhesive layer is not more than 4 mm. If the tile is more than 300 × 300, then the layer is increased to 7 mm.
  5. If the floor is uneven, then the adhesive is applied with a layer of up to 9 mm, and the evenness of the surface is controlled using a level.
  6. It is recommended to attach the tile within 10-20 minutes after applying the adhesive, as it has the ability to quickly set. Time allows you to adjust the position of the tile.
  7. After laying, the wall dries for about 2 days, the floor for 3 days. After this time, grouting is allowed.
  8. You can’t walk on the floor until it is completely dry. It is generally not recommended to expose drying surfaces to mechanical stress or to allow their contact with water.
  9. When working, use personal protective equipment.
  10. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water.

In some cases, “Strengthened reinforced” glue cannot be dispensed with. The composition can be entrusted with the installation of large elements on non-standard surfaces. Subject to all working conditions with glue and surfaces, cladding materials will hold tight for many years.

Description

To get reinforced glue, you need to dilute the material in water, given the proportions written on the package.

The composition of such adhesives include:

  • additional components that improve the mixture,
  • fine sand
  • cement.

With the help of such materials it is possible to glue artificial and natural stone, porcelain stoneware, ceramic tile products. Coatings are attached to vertical (walls) and horizontal bases (ceiling, floor).

Reinforced glue "Craps" is suitable for exterior and interior decoration.

Using such material, you can glue tiles on:

  • drywall
  • cement-lime surfaces
  • concrete (including cellular),
  • tongue-and-groove bases,
  • cement,
  • reinforced concrete.

When performing external finishing work, tiles should be placed at a low height. If you want to place tiled materials rather high, you need to take care of additional mechanical fastening.
