I continue to talk about our children's room. And today I want to talk about the most important thing in the nursery - this bed.

We had a bed-machine, but after moving, we realized that in this room it does not fit into the interior, and the child loves me to put him lying with him. Lying alone in a bed was a pain for me. A narrow, cramped and terribly painful back. I looked at now popular beds - houses, but they are not very different in size from the bed-cars. We decided to immediately buy a large bed. The sofa was not even considered. Then IKEA came to the rescue. There we looked at folding couches Hemnes and Brimnes.

Difference between them order 18 thousand. The choice was not easy. But still, after weighing everything, we decided to stop at Brimnes.

PACKING AND ASSEMBLY

The couch is sold unassembled. Packed in 3 boxes. Assembly of the couch was easy, the instructions are clear and understandable. The only thing we have done is mounting the lamellas. Initially, the lamellas were inserted into plastic bobbins and could not be fixed at all, because of this they tapped when you sit down on the couch. We bought special bolts and fixed everything tightly.

The bottom of the couch is lamellas. That is, it turns out that this is a full bed, not a sofa.

Disassembled mattresses are stacked side by side. At the same time, a gap forms between them, but it is practically not felt and does not affect the comfort of sleep in any way.

Unfolded, the bed is huge. Full double bed size 160 to 200.

The only hindrance can be carpet. We purchased a Himmelsk carpet, but were forced to return it, as the couch refused to unfold normally. I had to buy a narrow carpet, which we simply shift when we lay out the couch.

Assembled bed is quite compact - 80 by 200 cm. The mattresses are stacked on top of each other.

At the moment, I have no obvious complaints about quality. But I think that for such a price super-quality is not worth the wait. But I want to note only that the outer cover of the couch is very prone to chips and dents.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

I will pass to the main: pros and cons. I'll start with the cons.

Minuses:

Lack of back

It was this factor that confronted us with the choice of Brimnes or Hemnes. Hemnes in this regard, of course, wins and due to the presence of the backrest looks prettier and richer, especially when assembled.

The brimnes assembled looks incomprehensible and incomplete.

Or, if there is room, then remove one mattress. Then there will be sides approximately 15 cm.

Ideally, if the couch is pulled by the head to the wall. It will look more comfortable and sleep more comfortable. But here it stands so far.

But on the retractable part, there is no side at all. On this part I sleep and every night I catch a pillow, as it serves. But, note that Hemnes will not have a side on the pull-out part either.

Uncomfortable sitting on the couch when it is collected

The assembled mattresses are stacked on top of each other. Because of this, the couch is very high. Sitting on it is no longer comfortable and reminds this whole patty of old grandmother's feather bed.

In addition, sitting on the assembled couch, the upper mattress constantly strives to move forward, it is necessary to constantly correct it. The same "problem" applies to Hemnes. Again, there is only one way out - if there is a place for storage, then remove one mattress (for example, in the dressing room).

Sharp corners of the sides

The sides of the couch are square and have sharp corners. Once at night, the child hit his temple very strongly, as the pillow moved down a bit, and on the contrary he crawled higher about a dream and wanted to move closer to me.

Flimsy rack bottom

The rack bottom of the couch is made of solid pine. But the minus is that each rail is glued.

And as you know, these places are very flimsy. I read several reviews that it was in these places that the slats burst.

Soft material

Chips and dents very easily appear on the couch case.

Perhaps these are the most basic disadvantages that I noted for myself.

And now about the pros:

This is the biggest plus of this couch. And it unfolds to a full double bed.

✔ Capacious boxes

The boxes are really very large and comfortable. In two drawers I daily clean 2 pillows 50 * 70, 1 pillow 70 * 70, a 1.5-bedroom blanket and a Euro-blanket. All this fits without a problem. Plus, I have some toys in my drawers.

✔ Price

Agree, the price of 9990 rubles per base is very beautiful for such functionality. And having bought a couch for such a price, my head doesn’t hurt that a 4-year-old child will put a chip or a dent on it somewhere. I absolutely do not mind her.

But, if I gave 27999 (without mattresses) for Hemnes, then my eye would constantly twitch from children's cars crashing into the couch, etc.

Is it worth it to overpay?

I described all the pros and cons of the Brimnes couch. All the disadvantages are associated with its design. And what sways the flimsy rack bottom, then at Hemnes it is exactly the same. I specifically paid attention at the moment.

So, is it worth it to overpay for Hemnes? After all, it turns out that 18 thousand we overpay only for a design that is undoubtedly better and more convenient than Brimnes’s. Because they have identical qualities.

And initially we were driving just after Hemnes, but after looking at both couches and having well weighed everything, we decided to stop at Brimnes and spend 18 thousand on other things to equip the apartment. Still, I think the price of 27,999 per frame is very high.

But to be honest, if I had more free money, then I would most likely have taken Hemnes, purely because of the design.

Therefore, the choice is yours.

MY IMPRESSIONS:

At the moment, I'm happy with the couch. We lay out and fold it almost daily. We sleep on the spread out. My back says thank you! The couch is much more comfortable than a sofa.

It seems to me that this couch is a great option for a nursery, and for a summer residence, and for a one-room apartment!
